During the 1960s and right through to the present day, sounds systems evolved from their Caribbean roots into a distinctive British urban sound that enabled people to navigate issues of race, identity and culture. Over the next year, Rites of Passage: Bradford’s Sound System Stories will be making Bradford’s sound system heritage and cultural legacy more widely known about, better understood and preserved for future.
